JUHLAVUODEN LUENTOSARJA Metropolia ammattikorkeakoulun Rakennusarkkitehtuurin tutkinto-ohjelma 10 vuotta!
Metropolia ammattikorkeakoulun rakennusarkkitehtuurin tutkinto-ohjelma täyttää tänä vuonna kymmenen vuotta. Sen juhlistamiseksi järjestämme syksyn 2024 aikana luentosarjan, jossa avataan kaupunkien kestävää kehittämistä eri näkökulmista. Luennot pidetään kolmen viikon välein keskiviikkoisin klo 17-18:15 Zoomissa. Liity mukaan Zoomissa.

Sustainable Urban Design 18.9.
Ensimmäinen luento on 18.9., jolloin professori Jan Dieterle Frankfurtin ammattikorkeakoulusta kertoo kestävästä kaupunkisuunnittelusta. Millaisia mahdollisuuksia maisemallinen lähestymistapa voi luoda kaupunkitilojen kestävään suunnitteluun yhdessä matalan teknologian ja edullisen kustannustason menetelmien kanssa? Dieterle on erityisen kiinnostunut arjen kaupunkitilojen yhteisöllisestä suunnittelusta, jossa ekologisten ja sosiaalisten prosessien integrointi on ratkaisevan tärkeää ilmastoon sopeutumisen ja vedenkierron huomioivien käsitteiden avulla. Dieterle työskentelyä onkin leimannut käsitteellinen työ kaupunkitilasuunnittelun ja kaupunkikehittämisen sekä maisema- ja insinöörisuunnittelun laidalla.
Jan Dieterle
Jan Dieterle on toiminut kestävän julkisen tilan ja kaupunkisuunnittelun professorina Frankfurtin ammattikorkeakoulussa vuoden 2022 lokakuusta lähtien. Vuosina 2019-2022 hän toimi maisemaarkkitehtuurin professorina Hochschule Geisenheimin yliopistossa sekä vuosina 2016-2019 Stuttgartin yliopiston maisemasuunnittelun ja ekologian instituutin väliaikaisena johtajana. Siellä hänen työnsä keskipisteenä oli kansainvälinen maisteriohjelma ”Integrated Urbanism and Sustainable Design” (IUSD) yhteistyössä Kairon Ain Shamsyliopiston kanssa. Vuosina 2001-2008 hän opetti arkkitehtuurin ja kaupunkisuunnittelun kursseja Karlsruhen yliopiston maisema- ja puutarhainstituutissa. Dieterle väitteli tohtoriksi otsikolla ”Risk Landscape Upper Rein” Karlsruhen teknillisen korkeakoulun (KIT) arkkitehtuurin tiedekunnassa vuonna 2016. Dieterlellä on lisäksi laaja työkokemus freelancerinä sekä maisemaarkkitehtitoimistoissa ja julkisella sektorilla toimimisesta. Valmistuttuaan maisema-arkkitehdiksi Berliinin yliopistosta hän työskenteli berliiniläisessä maisema-arkkitehtitoimistossa vuosina 1999-2001 ja vuosina 2013-2017 julkisten alueiden suunnitteluryhmän tiimipäällikkönä Wiesbadenin kaupungin kaupunkisuunnitteluosastolla.

Sustainable Urban Design on Sept, 18th
The first lecture is on September 18th, when Professor Jan Dieterle from Frankfurt University of Applied Sciences will talk about Sustainable Urban Design. What kind of opportunities can landscape-oriented approach create for the sustainable design of urban spaces together with low-tech and lowcost methods? Dieterle is particularly interested in the community-based design of everyday spaces, where the integration of ecological and social processes is crucial with the help of concepts that take into account climate adaptation and the water cycle. Dieterle’s work has been marked by conceptual work on the edge of open space planning and urban development as well as landscape design and engineering
Jan Dieterle
Jan Dieterle has been a professor of sustainable open space and urban design at the Frankfurt University of Applied Sciences since October 2022. In the years 2019-2022, he was a professor of landscape architecture at the Hochschule Geisenheim University, and in the years 2016-2019, the interim head of the Institute for Landscape Planning and Ecology at the University of Stuttgart. There, the focus of his work was the international master’s program ”Integrated Urbanism and Sustainable Design” (IUSD) in collaboration with Ain Shams University in Cairo. In the years 2001-2008, he taught architecture and urban design at the Institute for Landscape and Garden at the University of Karlsruhe. Dieterle completed his PhD on the topic ”Risk Landscape Upper Rhine” at the Faculty of Architecture of the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT) in 2016. Dieterle also has extensive work experience as a freelancer and working in landscape architecture offices and in the public sector. After graduating as a landscape architect from the University of Berlin, he worked in a Berlin landscape architecture office in 1999-2001 and as a team leader of the public areas planning group at the urban planning department of the city of Wiesbaden in 20013-2017.
