Expert and Support Forum for Rebuilding Ukraine
Hybrid Event – 19 March 2025
Metropolia University of Applied Sciences
Myllypurontie 1, 00920 Helsinki, Finland
Welcome to a unique multidisciplinary forum dedicated to reconstructing Ukraine’s built environments in crisis-affected areas. This initiative unites top experts from various fields to share knowledge, skills, and innovations for sustainable development, planning, and project execution, creating meaningful impact for Ukrainians and participating stakeholders.
Purpose and Vision
This forum is designed to invite and engage passionate individuals and organizations eager to co-create solutions for Ukraine’s reconstruction. Together, we aim to develop tangible actions rooted in societal and individual needs.
Key Forum Objectives:
- Establish expert teams to address key pilot cases, pooling expertise, products, and services.
- Provide participants an opportunity to explore how collaboration can benefit their business or organization.
- Foster long-term capacity building, innovative business opportunities, and impactful solutions.
Focus on Pilot Cases
In the first phase, we are addressing key challenges collected from Ukrainians through this platform, seeking innovative and practical solutions. One of the initial challenges is constructing a new campus for the universities of Kryvyi Rih to replace the old campus destroyed by Russian ballistic missiles.
These initial pilot cases provide a foundation for collaboration:
- Kryvyi Rih and its universities: Partnering with local academic institutions to rebuild the shared university campus, focusing on Smart Buildings and Smart City principles to support education, community, and urban development.
- The city of Boryspil (tentative): Exploring opportunities for infrastructure and community rebuilding.
- Fun Academy on Wheels initiative: Innovating mobile learning environments to support education in affected areas.
Participants – pioneers eager to drive change – will have the opportunity to support Ukrainians and contribute to rebuilding the country. You can explore what this means for your own business or organization and how co-creation and collaboration with other stakeholders within these pilot cases can provide mutual benefits.
Ukrainian stakeholders are encouraged to bring additional practical pilot projects to the forum.
Hybrid Event – 19 March 2025
The forum will kick off with a hybrid event on 19 March 2025, hosted at Metropolia University of Applied Sciences in Helsinki. This event will bring together experts, stakeholders, and organizations both in-person and online, fostering a truly global and inclusive dialogue on rebuilding Ukraine. Participants will have the opportunity to engage in keynote presentations, interactive workshops, and networking sessions designed to spark collaboration and action.
Looking Ahead
This initiative not only addresses immediate reconstruction needs but also fosters new expertise, develops innovative business opportunities, and advances collaborative efforts within the network. By building capacity and creating impactful solutions, we aim to generate long-term benefits for everyone involved.
Origins and Leadership
This initiative stems from the EDU 3.0 EU Creative Europe project (2023–2024).
