!TITAN – Future Construction Hub – Helsinki Myllypuro Campus
The TITAN project, the Future Construction Hub, brings together three major educational and research institutions in the built environment in the Helsinki metropolitan area: Metropolia University of Applied Sciences, Aalto University, and Stadin AO Vocational and Adult Education Institute. The project creates a platform-based, low-threshold RDI collaboration and learning ecosystem for companies and other organizations operating in the future built environment, leveraging the expertise of these institutions.
The project’s goals are to increase awareness of the opportunities within the industry, promote the development of new skills to strengthen the competitiveness of companies, and enhance the attractiveness of the construction sector. The collaboration between the three educational levels connects students, industry, and society to solve both global and local transformation challenges holistically, transcending technological and sectoral boundaries. The project is firmly anchored in Myllypuro, East Helsinki, home to Metropolia’s Smart Campus and Stadin AO’s new Construction and Building Technology Competence Center. Additionally, Aalto University’s Department of Built Environment in Otaniemi is linked to the project.
The TITAN project’s innovation and collaboration network is open to new members via an application form, available at https://rakennusalantietotaito.fi/jasenyys/. Membership offers companies, organizations, projects, other networks, startup teams, and experts diverse opportunities for visibility and participation in the development of the future of the construction industry.
TITAN is a two-year project, running from October 1, 2023, to September 30, 2025. It is implemented in collaboration with Metropolia University of Applied Sciences, Stadin AO, and Aalto University, and is partially funded by the City of Helsinki’s Innovation Fund.
